Travel back in time with the stories of Honey Horn's past 200 years. You'll learn about the planters, the northern hunters who visited in the winter, the islanders who worked on site and the Hacks who lived at Honey Horn from 1950 until the late 1990's. This walk takes you past the places they lived and worked.

Daufuskie Island native and Gullah cookbook author Sallie Ann Robinson will present a recipe from her cookbook and provide samples for participants to try. Robinson grew up on Daufuskie and was one of author Pat Conroy's students during his stay on the island. She has preserved many of her family recipes in two cookbooks.

The 21st annual Piggly Wiggly Turkey Trot brought to you by the Island Recreation Association, 5k, 10k, and fun walk will be held on Thanksgiving morning, November 26 at 8:15 am. The races begin and end at the Boathouse II parking lot near the back entrance of Hilton Head Plantation.
The after-party will be held at the Boathouse II restaurant. Bring the whole family for this fun Thanksgiving Day race. Trophies are awarded in all age groups. All pre-registered participants receive a commemorative shirt. Pre-registration ends at 4 pm Wednesday Nov. 2d. All proceeds of this race go to the Island Recreation Association’s scholarship fund which insures that “no child is denied” recreation opportunities.
The pre-registration fee $30 for the 5k and 10k while the day of fee is $40.
